State mulls Joint Entrance exams ahead of HS results

Kolkata: The state Higher Education department is mulling the idea of holding West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations before the publication of results of Higher Secondary Examinations in the state. "We have proposed to advance the dates of the joint entrance examinations. APAI is the sole representative of all the self-financed engineering and technological institutions in Bengal and there are 114 private engineering colleges. "We will soon hold a meeting with officials of the Higher Education department and WBJEE Board to discuss the matter," he added.
