DRI arrests 6 with gold worth Rs 4 20 crore

Kolkata: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested six persons, including three women, and seized gold bars worth Rs 4.20 crore on Monday and Tuesday from Siliguri in North Bengal and Ranaghat in Nadia. According to DRI officials, on Monday morning, officials intercepted two luxury buses bearing registration numbers of Assam in Siliguri. DRI officials identified two suspects from the bus coming from Shillong and forced them to get down with their luggage. According to a statement issued by the DRI, officials found 38 gold biscuits weighing about one kg and one gold bar weighing about 7.3 kg, worth Rs 2.89 crore approximately.
