Light showers likely in South Bengal despite departure of monsoon

Kolkata: The South-West monsoon has officially withdrawn from the state a week ago but The Regional Meteorological Centre on Sunday predicted light to moderate showers in six South Bengal districts. According to the prediction of the weather office, the districts like West Burdwan, Birbhum, Purulia, Bankura, West Midnapore and Jhargram will receive scattered rainfall in the next 24 hours. The weather office also said that the people in the city and other adjoining districts will continue to face comparatively high humidity. The temperature will fluctuate in the next couple of days until winter officially sets in," a weather official said.
