Kolkata: Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has given his assent to the Greenfield University (Amendment) Bill, 2019, which had been placed before him. In essence, the amendment seeks to effect change in the name of Greenfield University to Darjeeling Hills University. It may be mentioned that the Greenfield University was constituted by the Greenfield University Act, 2018, in the district of Darjeeling. Considering the feasibility of the demand of the local people, the state government subsequently decided to rename Greenfield University.
