Kolkata: The state Power department has introduced a new technology for strengthening the power distribution system in various parts of South 24-Parganas and other districts, so that faults in the electric supply wires can be identified quickly. The department has installed feeder boxes equipped with advanced technology in Baruipur and other parts of the district. It will help the staff members of the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) to locate the electric poles which develop problems. The Power department had already started using SEEDN technology, enabling the officers to locate the exact area of the fault.
