Kolkata: South Eastern Railway (SER) has undertaken precautionary measures to ensure safety and punctuality of train operation in foggy weather during winter. Lime marking across the tracks at the sighting boards has been done. All signal sighting boards, whistle boards, lifting banners, fog signal posts and busy vulnerable level-crossing gates which are accident-prone have been painted. During dense foggy weather, loco pilots have been instructed to regulate train speed to a maximum of 60 km/h in poor visibility conditions for the safety of passengers and train movement.
