30 seats at NUJS to be reserved from next yr for students domiciled in state

Kolkata: State Law minister Moloy Ghatak while addressing the Assembly on Tuesday, said 30 per cent seats would be reserved for the state students in West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS) from the next academic year. Ghatak informed that around 30 per cent of the 127 Bachelor of Laws (LLB) seats and 42 Master of Laws (LLM) seats would be reserved in NUJS for the students domiciled in the state. The state government has already identified 40-acre land for constructing the circuit bench in Jalpaiguri. The circuit bench was made operational in March this year. The Mamata Banerjee government had been instrumental in setting up the circuit bench in North Bengal, keeping in mind a large number of cases in the region..
