Renovated Uttar Para Vagrant Home to be inaugurated soon

Kolkata: The state government will soon unveil the renovated Uttar Para Vagrant Home. "It might be mentioned that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had always focused on development of infrastructure of state-run vagrant homes. "The final date of inauguration of the renovated Uttar Para Vagrant Home is awaited," said Women and Child Development and Social Welfare minister Shashi Panja after inaugurating Bhabaghure and Patha Sishu Mela at College Square on Saturday. "Bhabaghure and Patha Sishu Mela took a new dimension after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee came to power in May 2011," pointed out Panja. At present, 38 shelters are being run with support from NGOs in three areas of which 32 are in Kolkata Municipal Corporation, three each in Howrah Municipal Corporation and Asansol Municipal Corporation areas..
