Kolkata: The state Municipal Affairs department is leaving no stones unturned to ensure that the stock and supply of water in the municipal areas across the state is not hampered by any means amidst lockdown to prevent spread of COVID-19. "We have already reviewed all the 28 water treatment plants under our jurisdiction and have assessed the quantity of chemicals required for each of them to ensure that the stock lasts at least for a month. A reasonable amount has already reached us and the rest are in transit," said Subrata Gupta, Principal Secretary of the state Municipal Affairs department. She has also instructed her officials to take suitable steps for smooth supply of water. The municipalities have been divided into groups based on their respective locations and senior officials have been given the task to supervise conservancy work in each group of such municipalities..
