Summary:

Noapara: Holding BJP responsible for the surge in Covid cases in Bengal, Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee on Friday urged the Election Commission (EC) not to allow any "outsiders" into the state without RT-PCR test. "Neglect of the Narendra Modi government with an eye on the elections led to a surge in Covid cases across the country. So, I would urge the EC not to allow any outsider into the state without a negative RT-PCR report for Covid," Banerjee said while addressing a rally in Nabadwip in Nadia. She further added that in many cases RT-PCR tests are not conducted if they come into the state for the purpose of the visit of the Prime Minister. This comes when as many as 6,910 Covid cases have been recorded in the state..
