more-inMinister for Tourism and Cooperation Kadakampally Surendran will inaugurate the ‘Jalayanam’ water tourism project planned under the responsible tourism initiative at a function to be held at Mampuzha farm tourism centre near here on March 24. An aquaponics centre will be opened at the farm tourism centre. The Malabar Botanical Garden along with the District Tourism Promotion Council, Fisheries and Forest departments will cooperate with the project implementation and the setting up of regional biodiversity parks. The project aims at tapping the water tourism possibilities of Olavanna and Kadalundi grama panchayats covering the banks of rivers such as the Chaliyar and Mampuzha. Project coordinators claimed that ‘Jalayanam’ would give more exposure to the eco-tourism destinations in the two panchayats with a focus on the Kadalundi community reserve, mangrove forests and the bird sanctuary..
