The artists contributed 50% of their collection from the sale of art works at the venue to the CMDRF. The event was opened by Mayor Thottathil Raveendran while Mr.
Ramakrishnan; M.K. But coming as it did from students of Loveshore School of Differently Abled, the sum was a significant contribution towards the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund. All together, the organisers made a contribution of more than ?1 lakh towards the fund. The Green Carnival, that was conducted at the Kozhikode beach on Tuesday was the venue for many such contributions, rightly termed “Karunya Kaineettam”, from street singer Babu to Labour Minister T.P..
