After meeting with the A-group leaders including Sony Sebastian, whom the A-group wanted to run, Chandy said that efforts were on to find a solution at the earliest.

“I talked to them and I understand their emotions completely.

I would meet Kannur MP and KPCC working president K Sudhakaran at Kannur and I would be meeting with Ramesh Chennithala and Mullappally Ramachandran to talk about the issue on Saturday morning at Thiruvananthapuram,” he said.

Chandy added that everyone wants a united party to face the elections and the discussion was to create an atmosphere ideal for such a contest.

Chandy refused to clarify when asked whether denying the seat to Sony Sebastian was fair.

“I can only listen to their issues.
