Police dogs to get IPS officers as dieticians

Of them, only 28 are sniffer dogs. This is the first time when such a panel involving IPS officers has been formed.The order was issued by Rajendra Pal Singh, DGP (economic offences wing), UP Police on June 12. The officers in the panel are R K Vishwakarma, Aditya Mishra and KCP Kumar.At present, only 39 out of 75 districts in UP have a dog squad. These dogs also came in handy during the theft of animals including cattle in Allahabad, Meerut and Saharanpur.The UP Police said that it has already planned to purchase a batch of 16 more dogs, while another 20 are getting trained at BSF’s National Training Centre for Dogs.
