LUCKNOW: Hours before Prime Minister Modi inaugurated Purvanchal Expressway in Azamgarh on Saturday, SP president Akhilesh Yadav accused BJP's 'double engine' government of usurping a project which was launched by his government as Samajwadi Purvanchal Expressway in December 2016.Shortly after Akhilesh's scathing attack, SP started posting advertisements released by then government on the eve of project launch, on social media. "They (BJP) have no achievements of their own, so they are re-launching and re-inaugurating projects that were launched and inaugurated by SP government," the former CM told mediapersons in Lucknow. "The only thing that Yogi Adityanath government has done is to remove 'Samajwadi' from the name of the expressway," he said.He also said that the CM and the PM were misleading each other about details of Purvanchal Expressway. "The chief minister had announced that the expressway will connect PM's constituency of Varanasi, his own former constituency Gorakhpur and Ayodhya but the present route has no mention of these places," Akhilesh said. Yadav himself tweeted one such advertisement with a comment, "A reminder for a forgetful BJP".SP leaders held meetings in villages on either side of proposed expressway in Lucknow, Barabanki, Faizabad, Ambedkarnagar, Amethi and Ghazipur to interact with farmers whose land was acquired by SP government..
