LUCKNOW: Taking a strict view of the building collapse in Greater Noida on Tuesday night, chief minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the suspension of the project manager and assistance project manager of the authority for having failed to prevent the illegal construction. He has also asked for a special drive to detect unauthorised constructions taking place in the Greater Noida area and action against anyone found guilty.“The chief minister has suspended project manager VP Singh and assistant project manager Akhtar Abbas Zaidi for their failure to prevent the illegal construction and lack of action against the unauthorised activity thereafter. By Wednesday night, three accused had been arrested by the police “The Meerut DC has also been asked to take up a drive to identify illegal construction taking place not just in Greater Noida but also around the notified areas of Greater Noida and for action to be taken in each such case,” said an official. Disciplinary action will also be initiated against them,” said a senior official.The government further announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh each, to be paid to the families of the deceased.The CM said that for families of labourers who perished in the accident, this amount has to be given over and above any other financial aid that they would be eligkible for.The accident, when one under-construction building collapsed over another in Dadri’s Shahberi Village, will be investigated by the divisional commissioner of Meerut..
