Work on Gomtinagar railway station finally begins

LUCKNOW: The construction of the much awaited Gomtinagar railway station has finally began. NER officials, said 30 pairs of mail and express trains will originate from and terminate at Gomtinagar railway station. Divisional railway manager of NER Vijaylaxmi Kaushik said the estimated cost of the project is Rs 1,800 crore. According to senior officials from North Eastern Railway (NER), the station with modern amenities is likely to be completed by 2020.The construction of the terminal will help reduce the rush at Charbagh railway station and Lucknow Junction.Work began earlier this week after an assessment by National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC). The station is expected to cater to around 50,000 passengers daily..
