UP: IAF rescues 8 people from rain-hit island

JHANSI: The Indian Air Force on Friday evacuated eight people stranded on an island of the Betwa river which was swelling at an alarming rate in Jhansi.The eight villagers who had gone to catch fish in Betwa river got stranded in flash flood.The incident took place in Jhujhanpur village where these villagers had gone to catch fish in River Betwa. We made a requisition for a helicopter which was made available to us in a short period of time.
