New bridge at rly stn to have ramp, handle bar

LUCKNOW: A new foot-overbridge (FOB) at Charbagh railway station is on the verge of completion. The bridge will also be equipped with security cameras,According to additional divisional railway manager of NR Lucknow division Qazi Meraj Ahmad, the construction of the bridge cost Rs 2.7 crore. Train information display screens will be put up near each staircase. Equipped with facilities such as phone charging points, the FOB is likely to be operational from next month.The third FOB at the station, it is connected to all platforms and goes till the back gate entry.According to Northern Railway officials, the existing two very old FOBs are just 3 metres wide and are not sufficient to cater to the rush of passengers in peak hours.The new FOB is 6.1 metres wide and will have a ramp with handle bar for wheelchairs along with stairs..
