Hotel served notice for power cut at CM’s event

LUCKNOW: A five minute power cut during chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s speech at Ramada Hotel on Thursday has landed its management in trouble. The notice asks why there was a power cut during the CM’s event when the power supply from the grid was normal at the time. Sources said that the hotel was sourcing power from a generator. “Who is responsible for this power failure and what action has been taken by the hotel,” the notice asks.Principal secretary (power) Alok Kumar also expressed displeasure and said that strict action would be taken.“We have learnt that power was being supplied through generators,” said sources.A senior hotel executive told TOI that no notice had been received. On Saturday, assistant director of directorate of electrical safety served a showcause notice on the hotel asking its chief engineer why no action should be initiated against it.On Thursday, just as the CM started addressing a meeting of Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of India, the hall was plunged into darkness for five minutes..
