LUCKNOW: The state government on Thursday announced fresh recruitment of 56,808 constables for various wings of the state police, including the fire department . Besides, 1,924 and 3,638 jail warders — 3012 men and 626 women — would also be recruited, besides 102 constables on horseback. This takes the total number of constables to be recruited by July 2019 to nearly 1 lakh.
