Loco pilots stop to clear railway tracks in Lucknow

Summary:

LUCKNOW: A day after 26 cows were run over by a speeding train on Hamirpur-Mahoba stretch , a TOI reality check in vicinity of railway tracks in Lucknow showed stray cattle were sitting ducks and a Hamirpur re-run was imminent. Recently, the DM issued an order to private cow and cow shed owners not to abandon their cows. During rush evening hours, officials keep vigil on movement of tracks as most longdistance superfast and mail trains like Chitrakoot Express, Ahmedabad-Gorakhpur Express, Surat-Muzzafarpur Express, Rajdhani and Howrah Express take this route. We shifted around 1,200 abandoned cows to various sheds in the district and cow shed owners were also warned that herds would be seized. Let’s show cow compassion rather than cow vigilantism..
