Locking stray cattle: Mathura cops book 100

While the police has started taking action against the farmers, the promise of resolution to the crises arising from the stray cattle menace remains far from resolved. AGRA: Mathura police on Wednesday registered case against 100 unidentified people for locking 35 bovines inside a government school in Jikhan village.The suspects, primarily farmers from the area, had barged into the school and did not allow students to enter its premises on Monday. We can not go to doctor if we get sick, as we have to take care of our crops. The case against them has been registered under Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act . However, no one has been arrested so far.A farmer in the village Raj Kumar said that the police action is unjustified, as people have no option but to take such steps to prevent their crops from destruction..
