Summary:

LUCKNOW: On Friday, in the midst of the IAS week that is on here, UP cadre officers received a message from chief minister Yogi Adityanath's office, asking many of them to attend a video-conferencing on the preparations for the upcoming board exams. Even as many were puzzled as they had to return to their districts, Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik is reportedly upset over this as the timing of the meeting was too close to a dinner hosted by him on Saturday. The traditional Services Week had taken off on Friday with IAS officers of the state and also those on central deputation gathering here for their week-long celebrations and interactions. After the chief minister's lunch and address on Friday, the governor's dinner was scheduled on Saturday evening as per tradition where officers and their spouses stage cultural programmes at the Raj Bhawan. But suddenly, the office of the chief minister flashed a message to DMs and commissioners on Friday saying they would have to report to their place of posting as Yogi would hold a video-conferencing with them at 6pm on Saturday. The missive from the office of the chief minister dampened the mood of the young officers who had to rush to their districts for preparations for the video-conferencing and give the dinner at Raj Bhawan a miss.More than 100 officers of the rank of DM and commissioner failed to attend governor's dinner and the young officers lost the opportunity of having diner with the CM..
