Threat case: Court rejects cops' report 2nd time

LUCKNOW: Chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court rejected the final report of police in the alleged threat case lodged by senior IPS Amitabh Thakur against ex-Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for the second time. The police had sent a final report to the CJM on October 9, 2018. A similar final report was also presented before the court on October 12, 2015, which was challenged by Thakur citing it to be one-sided.The court had rejected the report on August 20 in 2016 and directed the police to take voice samples of Mulayam and Thakur. Later, Thakur’s wife had again moved court for failing to procure voice sample of Mulayam in 2017.The police had also formed an SIT in February 2018 to probe the case afresh but it handed over the case to CO Bazaarkhala Anil Kumar Yadav in May last year. The court has also asked Thakur’s witness to appear on February 12 after which it will decide about the fate of the case.On July 10, 2015, Thakur had lodged a case accusing Mulayam of threatening him on phone of dire consequences in connection with a corruption case lodged by his wife Nutan against a minister in then SP government.The second police final report submitted by Dy SP Anil Kumar Yadav to the CJM had citied that Mulayam had called Thakur but not threatened him and also stated an action to be initiated against Amitabh Thakur for wrong facts and cheap publicity..
