Stone pelting: Vande Bharat windowpanes damaged

VARANASI: In a fresh stone pelting incident by anti-social elements on Sunday, at least nine windowpanes of India’s fastest train- Vande Bharat Express- were damaged near Sarsaul railway station in Kanpur Nagar district.After registering a case in this connection, GRP Varanasi transferred it to Maharajpur police station in Kanpur on Monday for further investigation.Inspector (GRP) Varanasi Cantt railway station, Ashok Kumar Dubey said when the train reached here from Delhi on Sunday afternoon the railway officials lodged an FIR against eight unidentified persons for attacking the train.In their complaint, the railway officials mentioned that Varanasi-bound Vande Bharat Express left Kanpur after scheduled stoppage and when it was passing through the outskirts of Sarsaul railway station, eight youths standing near railway tracks started pelting stones on it..
