LUCKNOW: A 30-year-old tattoo artist identified as Gurpreet Singh drowned in Indira canal under mysterious circumstances on late Wednesday. Police have also detained Sanket Agnihotri and his girlfriend in connection with the incident. His friends raised an alarm hearing which some villagers rushed to the scene and police was informed.A police team reached the place on information and divers were pressed into the job and Gurpreet was fished out.Circle officer (Gomtinagar) Avnishwar Srivastava said that case is still under investigation an FIR has been registered by Manmeet Singh, father of deceased against Sanket and Gurpreet’s wife Indi Valingh. Police claimed that detainees were with Gurpreet before his death.SHO Chinhat Sachin Singh said that we are not clear of the circumstances and the reasons which led Gurpreet to take the extreme step.Singh said that Gurpreet of Alambagh along with is friend Sanket Agnihotri left the house who was with his girlfriend Amrita and reached Indira canal.His friends told police that Gurpreet was drunk and was trying to click a selfie suddenly he lost body balance and drowned..
