Govt hospitals may get more doctors in Lucknow

Lucknow: Government hospitals facing crunch of specialist doctors might get some relief. Three seats in the medicine department and four seats in the anesthesia department.The hospital also hopes to get additional specialist seats in the pathology department which have not been approved by the New Delhi based Board as of now.With junior resident doctors to be recruited on DNB seats, the hospitals hope to tackle the issue of fewer doctors in the hospitals. Reason being that Civil hospital and Balrampur hospital have been given the nod to run DNB (Diplomate of National Board) seats in various departments.Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Combined hospital is already running specialist courses on DNB seats.While Civil hospital will run seven seats in three departments, Balrampur hospital has got 11 DNB seats approved to run under four departments.At Balrampur hospital, specialist doctors will now be available on two seats each in the general surgery and ENT departments..
