He also called upon people to immediately vaccinate themselves against the virus.
Khanna, who has been in the forefront of the Covid battle by raising adequate medical infrastructure, including dedicated corona hospitals and ensuring over 1.5 lakh beds in existing hospitals, said that since the lockdown had failed to yield desired results last year and only hampered economic activities, this year the lockdown would be the last option.
In 2020, a complete lockdown was imposed in the state to minimise the impact of the pandemic.
But it had crippled economic activities and the state government had to face economic challenges, Khanna said.
Expressing concern over the second wave of the pandemic, the minister said that the medical education department is committed to check the spread of the novel coronavirus in the state.
