Meteorological department alert, know heavy rain in many districts of UP including Lucknow

The Meteorological Department had already issued an alert for heavy rains in eastern Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, 16 September.

On September 17 and 18, light to moderate showers have been predicted in the state.

Many districts including Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Barabanki, Ghaziabad, including Uttar Pradesh`s capital Lucknow, are receiving heavy rains since Thursday morning.

The Meteorological Department had already issued an alert for heavy rains in eastern Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, 16 September.

On September 17 and 18, light to moderate showers have been predicted in the state.

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain occurred at many places in Purvanchal of the state and at few places in western UP.

Heavy rains also occurred at some places in Purvanchal.

During this period, the maximum rainfall of six cm was recorded in Karbi in Chitrakoot.

Apart from this, four in Rae Bareli, Lambhua in Sultanpur, Patti in Pratapgarh, Kunda, Prayagraj received three centimeters of rain.

Fursatganj in Amethi, Soraon in Prayagraj, Nighasan in Kheri, Lalganj and Raniganj in Pratapgarh, Baberu in Banda, Chilaghat in Jhansi, Puway in Shahjahanpur, Secunderabad in Bulandshahr, Koch in Jalaun, Daltonganj in Badaun, Karchana in Prayagraj, Musafirkhana in Amethi Two centimeters of rain was recorded.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in about 30 districts for the next two days.

These include Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Barabanki, Sultanpur, Mathura, Sitapur, Ayodhya, Moradabad, Shamli, Varanasi, Sambhal, Bulandshahr, Bijnor, Amroha, Gorakhpur, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Prayagraj, Baghpat, Hapur, Meerut, Shahjahanpur, Hamirpur, Ballia, Jalaun.

, Etawah, Lalitpur, Farrukhabad and Auraiya.
