Jhansi: Cops probing theft case taken hostage, later rescued

Two policemen were rescued on Wednesday evening after they were held hostage by villagers in Tahrauli police station area in Jhansi. A strong police force had to be deployed to rescue the two policemen – a sub-inspector (S-I) and a constable. SSP Jhansi Jitendra Kumar Shukla said, “People from Basari village had held the S-I and the constable hostage when they had gone to investigate a case of cow theft.
