LUDHIANA: The Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority GLADA ) has recommended FIR against 14 colonisers for developing illegal colonies in the city.Sources say that the GLADA officials are planning action against 10 more illegal colonies in the coming days.The FIR has been recommended against colonies in Jaspal Bangar, Rahon Road, Jassian and Laddian Kalan. Recently, a group of colonisers also met the Congress MP Ravneet Bittu in this regard. Moreover, the colonisers are still pressing the government to fulfill their demands in the policy. Officials claimed that developers did not stop the construction work in these colonies despite the fact that they imposed ban on registries and also conducted demolition in these areas.Moreover, the buyers will get trapped once they will invest money in such colonies where no development will take place in future. The policy is likely to cover colonies developed only till April 1, 2018.Harpreet Sekhon, the estate officer (regulatory) said that the developers are not mending their ways despite several demolition drives carried out by the department and the department is left with the only option of filing FIRs.Notably, earlier, the department had recommended around 70 FIRs against developers of illegal colonies between January and March.Sources revealed that officials are waiting for the regularisation policy but it is yet to get governor's approval..
