Jalandhar police seize huge cache of psychotropic drugs

On Thursday, police arrested three persons when they were carrying these drugs for supplying in different areas. Kapahi is already facing three cases under NDPS Act for similar offences.Meanwhile 15,380 tablets, 500 injections and six bottles of syrup worth Rs 2,20,742 were seized from a chemist shop in Phagwara Gate.This is the second major case of recovering psychotropic drugs by the commissionerate police in the last few days. “These included 1,07,011 tablets of Alprazolam and Chlordiazepoxide, 1500 Tramadol injections, 29,000 capsules and 109 unlabelled bottles worth Rs 4.50 lakh,” he said.Sinha revealed that shop owner Puneet Kapahi of Maharaja Garden locality, Jalandhar city was arrested and a case under sections 22, 61 and 85 of NDPS Act was registered against him.
