Punjab Agricultural University bans students driving cars within campus

LUDHIANA: In view of incidents involving rash driving by students, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has decided to ban students from bringing four-wheelers into the campus. The students making use of parkings (near gate number 1 and 2) will be charged a fee of Rs1,000 per month. However, the students are allowed to bring four-wheelers only up to Gate number 1 and 2, and they will park their vehicles in parking near Gate number 1 and 2 . The ban on vehicles has been implemented in Punjabi University and Thapar University at (both in Patiala ). We have also made alternate arrangements for students,” added Singh.Even wards of employees will not be allowed to bring four-wheelers into the campus..
