JALANDHAR: A Congress councillor has alleged scam in the contract given for replacing sodium lamps with 65,000 LED lights and maintaining these for 10 years. “They are being paid Rs 41-44 per set per month for maintaining the old lights is which require regular replacements. In his complaint given to the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation (JMC) chief, Sehgal has said that the contract between Jalandhar MC and a private firm is biased towards the contractor. “It appears to be major scam and we shall go into the bottom of the case,” he said.
