Bizmen call off stir after meeting with PPCB

Giving more information on the issue, Upkar Singh Ahuja said, “We have taken up this matter with the chief engineer in today’s meeting. Ludhiana: The deadlock between members of Janta Nagar Manufacturers Association (JSMA) and Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) was resolved following a meeting between them on Wednesday. “We also raised the issue of new industrial units facing problems in getting consent from PPCB. They were also apprised that the problems related to policy matters can not be solved at the local level. He has assured us that from now onwards, the department will only demand list of machinery installed in the factory and not the balance sheet.”.
