As per the proposal, Punjab is likely to seek 21% of its total power consumption from renewable sources by 2022. This would include 10.5% from non-solar renewable sources, including wind, biogas, small hydropower stations and 10.5% from solar generation. PATIALA: The Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) has decided to revise the renewable purchase obligations for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) till 2022 by inviting suggestions from stakeholders while formulating the new norms.As per Section 86(1) (e) of the Electricity Act, 2003, the PSERC is to promote co-generation and generation of electricity from renewable sources of energy by providing suitable measures for connectivity with the grid and sale of power to any person.
