Ludhiana: As many as eight women’s and girls’ teams took part in the 13th Senior District Baseball Championship, whose matches kicked off at Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women here on Saturday. In the second semi-final match, GN Khalsa College for Women, Model Town, beat Guru Nanak Baseball Club (5-0) to lock horns with Government Girls Senior Secondary School in the final of the championship.Harbir Singh Gill, member of Punjab Baseball Association, stated: “On Sunday, GN Khalsa College for Women (KCW), Model Town, will compete with Government Girls Senior Secondary School (GGSSS), Gill village, in the final match of the tournament. Around 60 to 70 baseball enthusiasts across the district featured in the state sub-junior championship matches. Some among them will be selected for the forthcoming national baseball championship to be held in first week of November.”The final match of the tournament will be played on Sunday, October 7.
