Halwara to get international airport as Centre gives approval

The Centre has approved setting up of an international airport at Halwara, 32 km from Ludhiana. Rajeev Kumar Bhatnagar, AAI deputy general manger (planning), said, “There is a proposal from the government of Punjab to set up an international civil enclave at the Halwara Indian Air Force Station. LUDHIANA: Here is some good news for Ludhiana and other districts of Malwa. The AAI has done a prefeasibility study and the report will be sent to the state shortly. An international airport in southern Punjab is much needed and the chief minister, the chief secretary and top officers are keeping a tab on every development.”If everything goes as per plan, this international airport will see the light of day in three years before the present Congress government’s tenure comes to an end..
