BJP demands white paper on Punjab economy from Amarinder Singh

LUDHIANA: Punjab state BJP president Shwet Malik has demanded that chief minister Amarinder Singh should bring white paper on the actual financial condition of the state and in case there was a financial crisis, then he should declare financial emergency.Malik was in the city to meet district-level leaders on Thursday. Taking a dig at the CM, the BJP leader said that if there was a financial crisis in the state, then how the cabinet ministers were announcing multi-crore projects for all districts. He added that more than two years had passed since the Congress government came to power and from Day 1 Amarinder had been blaming poor financial condition of the state for poor development. He added that the financial emergency was only for the public whereas there was no cut on the expenses of the CM, cabinet ministers, MLAs and appointed officers on special duties (OSDs).While addressing the media persons, Malik claimed that Amarinder used to demand white paper from former CM Parkash Singh Badal . It is difficult to understand whether Manpreet Badal is lying or the local bodies minister is befooling the public.” Malik also claimed that the Congress government had not fulfilled even a single promise made to the public at the time of elections and with parliamentary elections around the corner, the voters would teach the Congress a lesson..
