Over one lakh children get polio drops

Patiala: On the first day of the migratory Pulse Polio round, health department teams administered polio drops to 1,3,206 children in Patiala . Civil surgeon Dr Manjit Singh inaugurated the migratory pulse polio round from Deha Basti Jhungia by administering polio drops to children aged between 0 and 5 years.Immunisation officers and ASHA workers were part of the team that gave polio drops to children of migrant labourers.A total of 2,4,811 children up to the age of 5 years will be covered during the three-day campaign, for which the department has constituted 183 teams, including 12 mobile teams.The migratory pulse polio drive aims at checking the disease by covering more children from slums and shanties in Punjab..
