Ludhiana: 2 drug peddlers held with 65kg poppy husk

LUDHIANA: Sidhwan Bet police arrested two drug peddlers after they recovered 65 kilograms poppy husk from their possession at various places. He added that during checking police found two bags on the back seat of the vehicle and from these bags 46kg of poppy husk was recovered by police.In the second case, Sidhwan Bet police stopped Resham Singh, who was riding on a scooty, on suspicion near T point, at Kulgaina on Tuesday evening.Police officials said that the accused had a bag on his back and during checking of the same 19kg of poppy husk was recovered by police. The accused were identified as Bhupinder Singh Sonu, 32, of Dosanjh Road in Moga who is into dairy business and Resham Singh, 45, of Bhamal in Sidhwan Bet area, who is a tailor by profession.Deputy superintendent of police (DSP), investigation, Amandeep Singh Brar on Thursday said that the accused Bhupinder was travelling in his Hyundai Verna car bearing registration number PB30R-4484 on Tuesday evening when police party stopped him at check post near Safipura Chowk in Sidhwan Bet area..
