Ludhiana: Income Tax department's green initiative enters Limca Book of World Records

LUDHIANA: The income tax department of Ludhiana has achieved a Limca Book of World Records by installing a vertical garden at Rishi Nagar building under the "Green Plastic" campaign.This sprawling vertical garden made up of 17,000 plastic bottles with plants has been recognized by the Limca Book of World Records as the largest garden in the country. Finally our effort has borne fruit and it has been recognized at such a high level. We are hopeful that this recognition will encourage more people to join this noble initiative and grow plants with waste material even if they do not have enough space." The record has been registered in the 2019 edition of the book.Meanwhile, principal chief commissioner of I-T (North West Region) Binay K Jha said, "This is the true recognition of the joint efforts of our officers and staff to bring about a green change in Ludhiana city which is battling the huge problem of pollution from years now.
