Punjab: Police arrest peddler with 9.350 kilograms opium

LUDHIANA: Police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler after it recovered 9 Kilograms and 530 grams of opium from his car. They added that the accused Hira Singh revealed that he had supplied the consignment of 4 kg 500 grams of opium to same persons last month. It added that after seeing the police party, car driver sped the vehicle.The police party managed to stop the vehicle and overpowered it’s driver. The accused was identified as Hira Singh of Mari Noabad in Bhikhiwind of Tarn Taran district Giving details, SSP Khanna Dhruv Dahiya said that police have started a special campaign against the drug Trafficking and misdemeanors. They added that during questioning, the driver identified himself as Hira Singh.Cops said that DSP Khanna Deepak Rai was also present on the spot during the checking of the vehicle..
