6 caught with ‘unaccounted’ cash of Rs 62.3L in Khanna

Ludhiana: The police caught six men with “unaccounted” cash of Rs 62.3 lakh in two separate cases in Khanna on Wednesday. During checking, the police party recovered Rs 49.8 lakh from the car. Its driver identified himself as Gurav and the other two occupants as Ashu Goyal and Raj Kumar, all residents of Uttar Pradesh. The driver identified himself as Manoj Kumar, the one sitting next to him as Vishat Arora, both residents of Mann Sirovar Garden, Delhi, and the third as Narinder Singh of Delhi’s Rajagarh Rajori Garden. They too were handed over to the income tax department’s investigation wing along with the cash as they had no required documents to prove its legitimacy,” said a cop.He added that they were probing if the money was meant for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.Income tax department officials confirmed having received the two cases..
