Delay on northern railway route

Darbhanga-Amritsar Jan Nayak Express, Amritsar-Howrah Mail and Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Express faced a delayed by four hours and 50 minutes, reaching station at around 12.10pm instead of 7.30am.Ashok Salaria, station superintendent, said, “Railways made an announcement on the railway station about the several hours of delay due to the ongoing construction work of limited height subways on northern railway route.” It was expected to arrive at 9pm, instead of 3pm.Amrapali Express (from Katihar to Amritsar) arrived late at the city railway station with a delay of one hour at around 10.15pm in the evening which usually arrives at 9.20am. Jansewa Express (running from Saharsa to Amritsar) also arrived late by six hours. Ludhiana: Passengers had to face a tough time on Wednesday as more than 15 long-route trains coming from south-eastern parts of the country arrived late by several hours at city railway station due to ongoing construction work of limited height subways on the northern railway route.Passengers waiting for trains going to Mumbai, Assam, Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar seemed more impatient as these trains arrived in with delay of more than six to seven hours.Speaking to inquiry officials at Ludhiana railway station, “Howrah Express was delayed the most as it arrived at the city railway station around 11.50am with the actual arrival timings at around 5.40am.”Lohit Express arrived late at the city railway station with a delay of more than seven hours and 15 minutes at around 2.15pm instead of arrival time at 7.15am on Wednesday here..
