Youths honoured on World Youth Skills Day

Ludhiana, July 15Charanjit Singh Channi, Minister for Technical Education and Industrial Training, Employment Generation and Training, Tourism and Culture Affairs Minister, today said there was a huge demand of skilled manpower from Punjab overseas and the state government was committed to offer skill development education through the ITIs. Channi said this at a function organised by the Punjab Skill Development Mission and IIAE, on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, at Guru Nanak Bhawan. Channi said the government had already waged a war against drug menace and had been providing skill development courses to youth so that they could get employed. He said a total of 8.21 lakh jobs (government, private and self-employment) had been provided by the state government.
