Our CorrespondentPayal, September 10The police claimed to have nabbed two members of a gang that has been involved in smuggling of liquor from nearby states and selling the same in violation of provision of the State Excise Act. 80 cartons of liquor meant for sale in Chandigarh only were recovered from the premises of the suspects situated at Katahari village of Ludhiana district. The accused were identified as Navjot Singh and Kirandeep Singh of Katahari village. DSP Hardeep Singh Cheema said SHO Payal Kuljinder Singh Grewal, had received information of alleged activities of a gang led by Navjot Singh and Kirandeep Singh. The seized liquor was supposed to be sold in Chandigarh UT only..
