Gurminder Singh GrewalKhanna, October 21Police Commemoration Day was observed at the SSP office in Khanna to pay homage to the police martyrs belonging to Khanna Police Distict which laid down their lives during terrorism in the state. The programme was chaired by SSP Khanna GS Grewal, along with other police officials of Khanna Police District, in which tributes were paid to martyrs and their family members were also honoured. Later, the SSP heard the problems of affected families and directed the officials concerned to solve the matters on the spot. The demands of the affected families included increase in pension to Home Guard Jawan’s families (currently Rs 5000 per month). SP tejinder Singh Sandhu, SP Jagwinder Singh Cheema, SP Surinderjit Kaur and other concerned officials of Khanna Police District were also present on the occasion..
