Free TB-detection van flagged off

Ludhiana, October 29A van equipped with cartridge-based nucleic acid amplification test (CBNAAT) machine, an automated diagnostic test for tuberculosis (TB), was flagged off from the Civil Hospital, Khanna. After flagging-off the van, Dr Rajinder Gulati, Senior Medical Officer (SMO), Civil Hospital, Khanna, said the main advantage of the system was that the results were available directly from the sputum in about two hours. Dr Gulati said the main aim of the van was to diagnose TB patients in the area itself. The diagnosed patient will be provided free medication,” he said.
